MetaTrader Update

We would like to inform you that MetaTrader 4 was updated to the Build 604 version. These modifications helped to improve the performance of the trading platform. First of all, we changed the structure and data storage location of MetaTrader. The new version suggests that the data of each user is stored in a special place, in particular, in the data directory, which is on a system drive. Now the advisors, indicators, scripts, and library files are going to be archived in separate folders. To access them, all that you need is to open the File menu, then select the Open Data Directory tab. After that, you can choose any of the following catalogs in the MQL4 folder: \Experts – trading advisors; \Indicators – custom indicators; \Scripts – MQL4 applications designed for a single execution on chart; \Include – files with the MQH or MQ4 extension that are inbuilt in other programs; \Libraries – libraries in the form of MQ4 source codes and EX4 executable files compiled from them; \Images – image files for resources; \Files – special “file box”. File operations are allowed to be executed by MQL4 applications only within this directory. Please note that all your old advisors, indicators, scripts, and libraries will be automatically moved to the folders with the corresponding names. Rateinfo, the historic data storage format, also underwent thorough revision. Besides, unless you bring the older EX4 and DLL to the new format, these applications based on the previous Rateinfo format will not work correctly. In addition, now global search is available at the MetaTrader platform that makes your trading activity yet more comfortable. From now on, you can easily find all the information you need in any platform section. Furthermore, the new Market tab enables you to buy or download both free and paid advisors, signals, or scripts. Before purchasing indicator or advisor, you will be able to test it in a visual mode. Moreover, it became easier for MQL4 applications developers to offer their products to the huge amount of traders, who use MetaTrader 4.
